A young family is feeling mighty happy after they snapped up a new car.

Diamond Creek couple Clarissa and Chris Valentine were renovating their family home to cater to their three-year-old twin boys – Owen and Miles. During Mrs Valentine’s multiple trips to Diamond Valley Mitre 10 for building supplies, she unknowingly joined the national Mighty Rewards promotion where customers had to spend $25 in one transaction, then present their Mighty Rewards card to be in the draw. The prize was a new Suzuki Vitara worth $38,000.

Mrs Valentine shopped at the store 17 times during the 12-week promotion, claiming the prize and saying it was perfect timing.

“We had to give my husband’s company car back so we were going to buy a new car the weekend we won the car” Mrs Valentine said. “We got the call from the loan guy saying “you’re right to go”, an hour after Diamond Valley Mitre 10 told us about the good news. I told him, ‘actually we don’t need that anymore’”.

Store owner Norm Hastings said it was the first time the winner for a national competition had come from Diamond Valley. “It’s an amazing feeling being able to give away a car to a young family who are so deserving and such hard working winners” Mr Hastings said.
